French Toast
Ingredients
4 thick slices of stale brioche bread
2 eggs
1/3 cup whole milk
1 tbsp real maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
Optional Toppings
sliced fruit (I recommend strawberries and/or bananas)
powdered sugar
maple syrup
chocolate sauce
caramel sauce
Directions
In a bowl wide enough to dip your bread slices, whisk together the eggs, milk, maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Dip both sides of each bread slice into the mixture. Set the dipped slices aside on a plate until you're ready to fry them.
Heat a large, flat skillet over medium-low heat. Melt butter in the skillet.
Once the butter is melted and starts to bubble, add your bread slices and fry on each side for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove french toast from the pan and serve with your preferred toppings.
